Dear valued clients,
On November 23-25, 2012,
W3 Media was hit with a massive Black Friday DDOS (distributed denial of service) attack that overwhelmed our network infrastructure. The issue started at 5:34 am in the morning. Our technicians attended to the issue immediately. We quickly realized this was an external DDOS attack. Our upstream providers and the Vancouver Police Department high tech crime division were notified.
Data overwhelmed our upstream providers. The attack persisted even as our network providers in conjunction with W3 personnel worked to counter the malicious actions. Our voip PBX telephone system is also disrupted as a result.
Please know that we are actively working on a solution to restore services as soon as possible.
We wish to apologize for any inconvenience this disruption has caused you. Regardless of what has caused this issue, our clients depend on us to connect them with their clients, their friends and their family, and we are deeply saddened and truly sorry for this disruption.
We ask your patience and understanding as we work towards the recovery of services, and as we work with the authorities in solving this crime.
Sincerely,
The W3 Team
